CONDITIONS

The Finnish International Championships will be conducted under the BWF Competition Regulations and in accordance with the Instructions of the Badminton Europe Circuit, of which the Finnish International Championships forms a part.

DATES OF THE EVENT

Thursday 2^nd April 2009: Qualifications (if necessary) from 09.00
Friday 3^rd April 2009: Main tournament from 09.00
Saturday 4^th April 2009: Quarter Finals from 10.00 and Semi Finals from 16.00
Sunday 5^th April 2009: Finals from 11.00

ENTRIES

The entries must reach Badminton Finland no later than the 10^th March 2009. All entries must be confirmed by the relevant National Association.
The Member Association that enters a player into a Circuit tournament is responsible for paying the entry fees for that player. See Circuit Instructions § 17. The Organiser will acknowledge all entries. Entries must be shown in order of player strength.
No late entries will be accepted.

ENTRY FEES

The entry fees are:
euro 30,- in singles
euro 30,- per player in doubles (euro 60,- per combination)

WITHDRAWALS

If a player who is accepted into the tournament withdraws from the entire competition for any reason whatsoever within 7 days before the first scheduled match of the tournament, the Member Association entering the player shall make a payment of EURO 100.- to the BE.

Member Associations are advised to contact Badminton Finland immediately if they require to apply for visas. Names of competing players and coaches should be clearly shown. An official invitation letter will then be sent to the Member Association. Member Associations should apply for visas immediately thereafter.

PRIZE MONEY

There will be a total prize money of USD 15 000,-, which will be distributed to the winners at the prize giving ceremony. Local tax of 15% will be deducted from the prize money. The prize money will be given only to players who will participate in the closing ceremony.

ADVERTISING AND CLOTHING

The Finnish International Championships will be conducted according to the BWF general competition regulations 19-23 on advertising and clothing. The name on the back of the shirt is mandatory for all matches in the main draw. It is mandatory for the semi-finals and finals that double partners wear the same colour.

OTHER INFORMATION

* The finals will be televised by Broadcasting Company Urheilukanava and the signal will be sold internationally by the IEC in Sports.

* Wilson Topline 100 shuttlecocks will be used in the tournament

* The tournament will be played on Victor courts (6 courts on Thursday and Friday)

* Drug Testing: According to Finnish law Drug Testing might be carried out on a random basis at any time during the tournament

ACCOMMODATION NEW HOTEL!

Official tournament hotel will be Cumulus Airport Hotel. It is situated very close to the Airport and all the players and officials will get a free transportation from the Airport to the hotel and back by the Airport bus service. There will be free transportation between the official tournament hotel and the hall.

ARRIVAL

Competitors from abroad are requested to inform Badminton Finland of their date and time of arrival and flight number at the latest one week before the start of the tournament. There will be no pickup service as the tournament hotel is located at the Airport area. Teams will get an info letter of FIC2009 when they arrive at the tournament hotel.
