Arctic Open partners up with Yonex

Julkaistu:

Finland will be hosting a HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament in 2023-2026. Finland is the only new host in Europe in the World Tour in this cycle and the only Super 500 level competition in Europe.

HSBC BWF World Tour is the top product of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), based on about 30 top quality badminton tournaments played around the world per year. Arctic Open will have a global TV reach of over 500 million households. The competition also has by far the highest total prize money (about 500 000 USD) ever dealt in a sport event in Finland.

Arctic Open and Yonex have agreed on a four-year co-operation where Yonex will become the official sponsor of the event and the exclusive supplier of the tournament shuttles and court equipment. In addition to the above contribution Yonex brings a lot of valuable know-how for organizing this top event.

- We are very delighted to have Yonex as our partner in Arctic Open, as we had a really great experience working with them in Sudirman Cup in 2021. Arctic Open is a major event and it will be executed following top of the line standards. We are confident that having Yonex as our partner will further elevate the event and guarantee a great experience for all participating players as well, says Ville Valorinta, the CEO of Badminton Management Oy, the official organizer of the event.

Yonex is a world-renowned leading badminton brand with a long history in the sports business.
Yonex is involved in several different sports such as cycling, snowboarding, running, golf, tennis and of course badminton, which is still the company's core business. Scansport has been Yonex's partner responsible for the Nordic markets for over 50 years and will also be responsible for the co-operation with Arctic Open.

- We at Yonex are very excited to be a part of the new era in the Finnish badminton. We have with great pleasure and attention followed the recent development closely and are very happy to see the excitement and the energy being added to the project. With this new agreement about Finland’s Super 500 tournament and the earlier announced agreement about the national team we are happy to support the future development in Finnish badminton, says Benni Holst Andersen, chairman of Scansport's board (Yonex Nordics).

Arctic Open powered by Yonex 10th – 15th October 2023.
